20,088,909 of a maximum 21,000,000 BTC have been issued, 95.7% of the total that will ever exist.
Bitcoin is secured by 922 EH/s of its own work. Hashrate does not compare across algorithms — a SHA-256 hash and a Scrypt hash cost different amounts to produce.
Named a digital commodity in the joint SEC-CFTC interpretation (Mar 17, 2026).
Reported as the regulator's position, not ours. Assets nobody has ruled on are left unclassified rather than sorted by our own guess.
An asset counts once. Wrapped coins, staked derivatives and stablecoins are claims on something already in the list, so they are listed separately rather than added to the total. That's why an asset can rank higher on CoinSpectrum than on aggregators that count claims alongside the coins those claims are backed by. The methodology sets out both rules, and the counting rule argues for them.
